We are currently accepting applications for our 2025-2026 Articling Student Position.

Montes Gendron Lawyers is an ambitious and growing firm with a tight knit, high-performing team. We practice both criminal defence and family law. As our firm continues to expand, we are looking to add one Articling Student for 2025-2026. This is an in-person position at our office in Barrie, Ontario.
We are committed to providing meaningful mentorship and hands on courtroom litigation experience to the next generation of trial lawyers. As our student, you will be relied upon to use your legal research and writing skills to provide our lawyers with comprehensive litigation support. You will also regularly assist counsel at settlement conferences, motions, preliminary inquiries and trials. As the term progresses, we will encourage you to independently address contested applications, sentencing hearings and even trials should the right opportunity present itself.
Successful candidates will have:

Superlative legal research and writing skills.

A demonstrated interest in criminal defence or family law.

A commitment to developing their career in Simcoe County / Muskoka.

an empathetic, trauma informed approach to client relationships.
Requirements:

Be registered in the LSO Lawyer Licensing Process and be eligible for articling.

Possess a valid driver’s licence and have daily access to a vehicle.

Possess a willingness to work outside normal business hours if required.
Compensation:
-
Salary of $1000 per week.

LSO Lawyer Licensing Process fees.

Two weeks paid vacation.
